Warhammer 40k – Yes or No?

Going back to grade school, I’ve always been interested in table-top game hobbies. Recently I’ve started to consider picking up Warhammer. I’m particularly interested in the building and painting of the models. There are a ton of resources out there showing the endless creativity people show with the miniatures and it’s seems right up my alley.

Also, there’s a ton of good info on the Warhammer Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/

If my curiosity turns into something more tangible, I’ll post my experience with the game so you can play along.

Let’s Build: Perceptive Experience T-Shirt Art

Every once in a while at my job I get to work on a side project with some creative freedom. This last week was one of those times. We are about to release a new version of our software and are going to print up some t-shirts to celebrate. My team and I worked on some artwork for the project. This is what we came up with:

Image upload fail

UPDATE June 13 – After reaching out to WordPress technical support they have isolated the upload issue to my host. Next step is to call them and get it addressed.

UPDATE June 4 – I got an image that had previously failed to upload, but I had to decrease the scale and overall file size which seems to work.

Hopefully this will be a rare occurrence with WordPress, but I’m having an issue uploading images. When I upload one through the admin, it just keeps saying “HTTP error” It’s really not a huge deal as I can upload them and link to them, but that makes uploading from my phone a bigger problem.

If anyone’s run into this problem before let me know.

Let’s talk Top Gear

I’ve watched Top Gear pretty religiously since season 7 or so. I watched all the previous episodes on Netflix and was uncharacteristically broken when Jeremy, Richard, and James walked away from the show.

The reason I bring this up is that Top Gear (like Mythbusters I’d argue) is one of the best shot televisions shows ever. It’s beautiful. The cinematography had become the 4th presenter on the show.

For those who don’t know, Top Gear is back. It’s got a new feel and presenters, but one thing is back in classic Top Gear fashion — cinematography. I watched the first two episodes and laughed a little, and I was even wrapped up a bit in their first big adventure. But more than anything, I caught myself wanting to be in the car next to them traveling through amazing landscapes. I’m glad that’s back.

I have no doubt when the original crew launches their show on Amazon Prime, they will continue transporting the audience to new and different places of the world. Once they do, it will be great to have two shows that do it so adeptly.
